GPA: >3.8 in mathematics, physics, and chemical engineering courses
Coursework Criteria: A course in programming; a course in differential equations.
Other:
- Students do research in collaboration with a graduate
student or postdoctoral mentors.
- Some projects are experimental; some projects are simulation/programming.
- Motivated students are welcome. Students who love mathematics,
programming, or careful experimentations are welcome. Interested
students should take technical electives in Math, CS, Physics,
and/or CSE. All motivated student's co-author journal papers.
Research: Systems and control
Our research is in the creation of approaches for the modeling,
simulation, and control of chemical processes including the
crystallization of pharmaceuticals, the manufacture of copper
interconnects for microelectronic devices, and the extrusion
of thin polymer films.
