Qualifications:
GPA: Preferably over 3.4, motivation/commitment is however more important
Coursework Criteria:
- Serious commitment is a must.
- Students that are in their Junior/Senior year in good standing are preferred
- Sophomores can be accepted for ChBE 199 after which they may continue for ChBE 499
- Projects are primarily computational
- Matlab or other programming skills essential
- Highly motivated students are welcome
Other:Most students work for two semesters for about 12 hours per week to obtain the minimum of five credits. Work hours are flexible especially in busy (exam) weeks, but lost time needs to be made up (evening, weekend, holidays). This is not an automatic "A" course. Work can also be performed over the summer. The goal of all projects will be towards publication of peer-reviewed journal articles, and undergraduate researchers will have the opportunity to be authors according to their level of contribution.
Research: Computational Systems Biology
Students will typically work with a graduate student or postdoc on a project related to the computational analysis of biological systems. Interested students should email me to set up a time to discuss specific opportunities in the lab.
