Admission to Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering

Prospective students also may use this site to apply online or may download and print an admissions application. Applications are available for use on September 1.

Admission to Chemical Engineering is very competitive, and admission decisions are based primarily on the following criteria: (a) courses taken in high school, (b) ACT composite score or SAT 1 combined score (including the writing portion in at least one sitting of either test), (c) cumulative high school percentile rank established at the end of six semesters, (d) extra-curricular activities and (e) information submitted in the essays. No single factor, including test score, high school rank, or high school attended, will guarantee admission to the University of Illinois. Additional requirements for some curricula are explained in the individual college sections of the application.
